The Season of Advent is one of reflection and preparation – and this year All Saints Church is delighted to invite members of the parish to consider these two opportunities to reflect and prepare in community: one virtual and one in person.
From Many, One: Conversations Across Differences
Advent– the liturgical season of preparation – offers us the opportunity to prepare our hearts for the coming of the Christ Child. It also offers us the opportunity to prepare ourselves for family gatherings during the holiday season which – for some of us – bring the challenge of engaging across differences.
On December 2, 9, and 16 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, our diocesan “One in the Spirit” ministry will be hosting series of virtual conversations structured around “From Many, One: Conversations Across Difference” – the initiative inviting Episcopalians and our neighbors to engage in one-to-one listening and sharing across the many differences that challenge us. Participants will have a chance to see how this framework can enable them to communicate with others with whom they disagree on contentious issues and transform their relationships in the process.

Journeying With The Way of Love
For the season of Advent, Journeying With the Way of Love offers four sessions to be explored as we await the coming of Christ by moving through the first two chapters of the Gospel of Luke. Luke’s gospel provides a pattern for understanding how we can live the Way of Love as individuals, as families and friends, as a community, and out in the world.
Meeting on Sundays, November 28 – December 19, 10:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. in the Guild Room
Participants will be offered the chance to explore the first two chapters of the Gospel of Luke using The Way of Love Advent Calendar. Each day of the week is assigned one of the seven components and the reading and reflection focuses on that specific component. The group sessions then cover the basics of The Way of Love as we do the Advent Calendar and study together the story of Mary in Luke 1 & 2.
