The new Feast & Friendship ministry’s first series of gatherings gets under way in June. Evolving from the Congregational Dinners enjoyed by many members in the past, Feast & Friendship is a series of dinners and other gatherings offering All Saints members opportunities to eat and socialize and become better acquainted.
“Getting to know each other is our only agenda,” said Nancy Naecker, chair of Congregational Development. “Jesus set the example of breaking bread among friends, and this new ministry offers opportunities for us to break bread and get to know more members of All Saints Church.”
The first 7 gatherings are taking place between Memorial Day and Labor Day, with more groups to start in the Fall season. Organizers plan for each new group to gather once in the summer and again in the Fall. Each group can determine if they wish to continue meeting periodically or join new groups to develop even more All Saints friendships.
“We are grateful to the hosts who enthusiastically agreed to help us get this new ministry off the ground this Summer,” explained Jane Brust, chair of the new Feast & Friendship ministry. “We will be looking for more hosts to get a second series of gatherings scheduled for the Fall with more good food and good friends.”
