Lenten Events and Small Groups

Throughout Lent, All Saints will offer a diverse and stimulating array of events and small groups — educational, meditative and active. And this year we include four options with Keeping It Sacred and Rabbi Heather Miller! Please mark these events in your calendars and join us.

Keeping It Sacred Option #1: Healing Circle
OngoingThursdays, 10:30 a.m.

Take a moment to think of all who are ill and pray for wellness. Healing of body and healing of spirit. For ourselves and for others. At the end, Rabbi Heather Miller offers blessings. No experience necessary. All are welcome! Register at: keepingitsacred.com/upcoming-1. For information contact rabbimiller@keepingitsacred.com.

Keeping It Sacred Option #2: Talmud for ALL!
OngoingThursdays, 11:00 a.m.

The Talmud, built on centuries of brilliant scholarship and analysis, is one of the richest sacred texts revealing ancient practices, values, and ethical standards. It has inspired not only religious reverence, but also significant intellectual inquiry. Each week, we delve into the text, explore the teachings, and challenge our thinking. Discover how these ancient teachings can have practical relevance in your life today. These classes are open to participants of varying skill-sets, even for those with little or no background in the Talmudic dialectic. There is a place for everyone in this program as we study a page of Talmud each day. This cycle, called Daf Yomi (daf=page, yomi=a day), syncs us up with the entire global Jewish community engaging in this practice. Register at: keepingitsacred.com/upcoming-1. The meditation is about 18 minutes long, and each session should be over by 9:30 am. It involves mentally sending goodwill, kindness, and warmth towards others by silently repeating a series of mantras. Zoom link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82547597405.

Keeping It Sacred Option #4: The UNTOLD Stories of the Bible
Sundays, March 20 – April 10 at 10:15 a.m.
Have you ever wondered about the parts of the Bible that are not explained? So did the rabbis! And they filled in the gaps in the text with their own writing and understanding of what happened in a literary art form called midrash. Rabbi Heather Miller will explain the concept and provide examples. Then, together, we will do a close read of selected texts to view gaps in the storylines, and write our own expositions based on our own life experience. Register at: keepingitsacred.com/upcoming-1.
