Service with Special Intentions for the Healing of our Nation and an End to Gun Violence, Wednesday, May 25

In the wake of yet-another mass shooting, our hearts break and our minds boggle at the horrific impact of gun violence. As a people of both prayer and action, we lift our prayers and we redouble our commitment to work without ceasing to end the scourge of gun violence that plagues our nation.

Join us on Wednesday, May 25, for two opportunities to come together in community to grieve, to pray and to empower each other for the work ahead: services with special intentions for the healing of our nation and an end to gun violence:

Noon Eucharist: 12:00 noon (in-person and streaming live online here)
Taizé Service:   6:00 p.m. (in-person)

Paper and markers will be available for the entire community to write prayers for posting on our “Throughline” at the bottom of the steps to the South Tower — and chalk is there if you would like to express your feelings on the sidewalk.

God of Justice, help us, your church, find our voice. Empower us to change this broken world and to protest the needless deaths caused by gun violence. Give us power to rise above our fear that nothing can be done and grant us the conviction to advocate for change.

And make your plans to be with us on Sunday, where we will offer a special Litany for the End of Gun Violence at 7:30, 9:00 and 11:30 a.m.
