This Sunday at All Saints: Sunday, December 18

Covid-19 Protocols Update: Because of the recent sharp rise in COVID, flu, and RSV cases in Los Angeles County, out of an abundance of caution and in accordance with our ongoing policy of common-sense risk reduction, effective December 8, 2022, All Saints Church is returning to requiring masks for all indoor gatherings — including worship, meetings and social gatherings. This policy will remain in effect throughout the holidays and we will re-evaluate masking protocols in early January.

The Fourth Sunday of Advent is on December 18, 2022! Mark Chase will preach at both the 7:30 a.m. service in the chapel and the 10:00 a.m. service in the main church. At 10:00 a.m., Coventry Choir offers Magnificat, Collegium Regale arr. by Howells and Behind the Clouds by Betinis, with soloist Lydia Brown.

At 9:00 a.m. in the Forum: Where Is the Hope? The Justice System with L.A. District Attorney George Gascón
George Gascón took office on Dec. 7, 2020, and immediately instituted a series of policies based on science, data and research to bring change within the criminal legal system. He is working to build a national model of criminal justice reform that supports and restores crime victims and survivors while addressing mass incarceration, racism and social systemic inequities Today, Gascón and his work are defined by the same notions of fairness, public safety, service and critical thought that have been consistent throughout his life. In addition to his criminal justice work at the local, state and national levels, Gascón has worked on public safety initiatives in Latin America and the Middle East. He is a board member of the Council of State Governments Justice Center, a graduate of the FBI’s National Executive Institute and a member of the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government’s Executive Session on Policing and Public Safety. If you can join us in person, we would love to see you! If not, stream the Forum live here.

Also at 9:00 a.m. join Ahren Martinez for the arts, crafts, music and good vibes of Family Hour — for parents and children (kindergarten through fifth grade) before the 10:00 a.m. service. Parents are welcome to participate or drop children off. Join us in the Learning Center (top floor of Regas House) for music, art, and fun! For more information, contact Ahren at amartinez@allsaints-pas.org.

Join Greeter Jenn McGaw in our Online Coffee Hour on Zoom after the 10:00 a.m. service.

Finally, at 5:00 p.m. in the Church: Advent IV Evensong. Canterbury Choir offers traditional carols including Gregorian chant an Appalachian hymn, and music of Kirchner, Archer, Stanford, and Beamish. Susan Russell offers a meditation. A wonderful way to close the Advent season and prepare for the glory of Christmas.

Streaming at 7:30 is offered on Zoom, and at 10:00 a.m. is offered on our website’s live stream pageour Facebook page and our YouTube channel. Check out our live streaming page to download service leaflets and take part in our action of the week.

For in-person worship, our guiding principle remains to follow common sense risk reduction guidance for as long as we remain in a declared public health pandemic, so to keep our community safe and well, our in-person worship guidelines include:

  • Masks are required indoors on the All Saints campus, because of the recent surge in COVID-19 cases in Los Angeles County, to protect the most vulnerable.
  • Masks are optional outdoors.
  • Both outdoor and indoor seating is available for services and communion will be served in both locations.
  • Our expectation is that those entering the church will be vaccinated (if vaccination is available to them)
  • Those who choose to be unvaccinated are requested to participate online.
  • Those seated indoors are asked to maintain social distance between individuals/households.
  • If we reach seating capacity in the church, ushers will guide you to alternative seating areas.
  • We ask you not enter if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms: fever over 100.4°F or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, or if you have had contact in the last 14 days with someone diagnosed with or suspected to have COVID- 19.
