Join AAPI Ministry and Theatre Ministry to See Kim’s Convenience
Saturday Matinee, April 18, 2:00 p.m.at the Ahmanson Theatre
This award-winning comedy drama, which inspired the Netflix hit, is a hilarious, feel-good story about a Korean family-run corner store. Mr. Kim works hard to support his wife and children with his Toronto convenience store. As he evaluates his future, he faces both a changing neighborhood landscape and the gap between his values and those of his Canadian-born children. Playwright Ins Choi, who will also star in the production as the titular character, calls Kim’s Convenience his “love letter to his parents and to all first-generation immigrants who call Canada their home.” Simply register below. You will receive a prompt to order your tickets directly from the Ahmanson website.
For the show, pick whatever seats you would like — (we won’t be sitting together as a group.) If you are available after the show, we will gather together at Abernathy’s restaurant in the music center (walking distance from the theatre) for a discussion. Hope you can join us! Register here.
