Group: Faith and Formation

Join our Racial Justice Ministry as they guide us through the historical significance and present day impact of the holiday that has come to be known as “Juneteenth.” Juneteenth is a combination of the words June and 19th, for it was on the 19th day of June in 1865 when the last enslaved Africans heard the news that slavery had been abolished and that they and their families were free. Our formation as a community will take place as we examine and lament the context of American slavery and the resilience of Black Americans and their allies that led to its being abolished; a resilience that we still need and can still learn from today

All are welcome for this opportunity to connect, reflect and explore together – in person or online.
