Faith in Action: Resistance Tool Box & SNAP-related Food Drives

On September 8, 2025, in a 6-3 ruling, the Supreme Court of the United States told us that racial profiling, and simply where a person gains employment, is probable cause for a person being detained, arrested and kidnapped by Immigration, Customs and Enforcement here in Los Angeles County. As we continue to respond to this moment of unprecedented challenge with horrific ICE raids kidnapping our neighbors, All Saints remains committed to offering opportunities to engage in actions you can take to be the change we want to see in the world.

This page is offered as a place to connect with opportunities for engagement, to find information about upcoming rallies, trainings, protests and vigils, and to find spiritual resources to sustain us in the struggle.

Anxiety levels throughout our community have peaked, but in resistance to this peaked anxiety, please, as much as you can, stay grounded. There are three ways that we encourage you to do the grounding work.

1) Stay grounded to your spiritual practices. Whether that’s prayer, meditation, breathwork, walking, journaling, drinking water — stay grounded and connected to your SELF. As we respond to oppressive systems, it is imperitive that we respond out of a settled nervous system ourselves.

2) Stay grounded in community. Here in Pasadena and the greater Los Angeles area, we’re connected to the National Day Laborers Organizing Network, The Pasadena Job Center and our own Sacred Resistance movement in the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles.

3) Check this webpage to see the latest, most timely actions that can be taken. Please check back frequently for opportunities to participate.

It is more imperative than ever to stay grounded — to ourselves, to the community, and to our diocese.

Visit the official Registration Page here. Sessions will likely be limited to 50-75 participants.

++++++SNAP-RELATED FOOD DRIVES++++++

SNAP Benefits Ended on October 31st. Help Feed the Hungry.
Please be generous in supporting those most vulnerable to food insecurity by donating to one of the community food pantries gearing up to meet the needs of those who depend on the resources which are being sacrificed on the altar of partisan politics due to the government shutdown. There are many ways and places to give out of the abundance of what God has given us. Here are two of them, and see Hillsides below:

ASC Food Ministry Is Busier Than Ever, and We Need Your Help!
Every week, the ASC Food Ministry lovingly serves approximately 60–70 low income and unhoused guests, preparing healthy, tasty buffet-style meals and to-go lunches. Volunteers also distribute pantry food staples. In this season where SNAP benefits have been cut from millions of our neighbors, we’d love your help! Please bring your non-perishable food donations to church on Sunday. They’ll be a table on the lawn with a sign for where the donations can be placed:
Boxed juice, canned items (tuna, soup, vegetables), fresh fruit, peanut butter, crackers, cookies, individual packs of trail mix or dried fruit
Members of the ministry create an environment of hospitality and community, welcoming each guest and seeing to their needs whether it be food, a friendly face and listening heart, or a moment of prayer. Thank you for your generosity and support!

++++++COAT DRIVE FOR YOUTH AFFECTED BY FIRES++++++

Coat Drive for Children & Youth Who Lost Homes in the Fires
On Sunday, November 30, donations will be collected at a table on the lawn before and after the 10 a.m. service
All Saints Church is working with Foothill Family Services and the Eaton Bloom Project this holiday season to provide 40 families with holiday care packages. These are families who lost homes during the Eaton fires and have been nominated through the Eaton Fire Collaborative. All Saints has been asked to donate NEW winter jackets and coats for children ages 6 months to 18 years old. All sizes will be accepted. We will also be collecting at the CYF Advent wreath making event that evening at the church. Any questions contact Laura Thompson at laura.thompson@me.com.

How to Help by Giving:

The immediate need is for funds to ensure that we can secure rapid and adequate legal representation for all impacted. It is estimated that legal assistance will cost approximately $2000 per family, so please consider making a special donation to help cover legal fees of these individuals in our wider Episcopal Church community who have been detained by ICE donating to the Sacred Resistance Fund here which is coordinating the support. Join us as we stand on the side of the loving and liberating Jesus who calls us to be justice-seekers and peacemakers in the face of state violence and oppression.

Please stay connected as we react and reflect on rapidly unfolding events. We will provide updates on ways for the parish and the community-at-large to engage with and provide support for the disenfranchised among us. If you need further information, please call 626.796.1172 and our front desk will direct your call. Thank you for your commitment to justice and peace.

Finally, let us never forget we have the Spirit as a partner in all we do.

A Prayer to Our Lady of Guadalupe in a time of Fear and Injustice

Mother of Compassion, who stands in light with the God of All Creation,
we lift our prayers to you in this time of fear, displacement, and unrest.
You who revealed yourself to Juan Diego
as a sign of hope for the poor and oppressed,
draw near to us now.

We pray especially for our siblings in the Los Angeles community
who live under the shadow of ICE raids,
for families torn apart, for those in hiding,
and for those whose sleep is restless and whose peace feels out of reach.
Shelter them beneath your mantle of mercy.

Holy Mother,
you who know the pain of exile and the courage of resistance,
be a steadfast presence to those who are afraid.
Inspire us, your people, to stand in solidarity,
to work for justice,
and to be instruments of peace in a broken world.

Grant us the grace to see Christ in the faces of the vulnerable,
and to respond not with fear, but with fierce love and unwavering faith.
All this we ask
through your Son, Jesus Christ,
who lives and reigns with the Creator and the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and forever.
