9:00 a.m. Faith, Formation & Fellowship: Episcopal Church’s Withdrawal from the Federal Government’s Refugee Resettlement Efforts
9:00 a.m. in the Guild Room. The Episcopal Church made news this week when The Most Reverend Sean Rowe released a statement announcing that the Church would be halting collaboration with the Federal Government in refugee resettlement efforts. His decision was in response to the administration’s fast tracking the resettlement of white Afrikaaners from South Africa, despite halting resettlement efforts for refugees from other countries. On the heels of the Presiding Bishop’s announcement, Bishop Taylor, Bishop of Los Angeles, released a statement supporting the PB’s decision. And see the Letter from Archbishop Thabo Makgoba of Cape Town to the Presiding Bishop. Come to the Guild Room for a conversation unpacking both the PB’s decision and our bishop’s letter. Susan Russell, one of the authors of the diocesan letter will present and facilitate.
