All in the Family: Navigating the Post-Election Holidays

Sally Howard & Mike Kinman in the Rector’s Forum on Sunday, December 4, 2016:

“To be able to say ‘I’m sorry, I’m really uncomfortable with this. And this is why,’ is to set yourself up to be vulnerable — to set yourself up to be ridiculed — but that’s actually the model of Christ — when someone is being put in that situation to say ‘You know what, I am going to reinforce that targeted person’s authority, and I’m going to do it using mine.’ Those situations are scary. But kind of scary is where the church lives.”
