Fiction Fun! Reads Allen Levi’s Theo of Golden (2023)
Friday, May 22, Early Discussion at 6:30 p.m.; Book Discussion from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the Guild Room.

This novel, self-published by its author in 2023, got traditionally published two years later and became a New York Times #1 best-seller, with a million copies sold by March 2026. Oprah Winfrey said she “read and loved” it, and she shared a favorite quotation: “For anything to be good, truly good, there must be love in it.” Online commentary suggests that Theo of Golden is sentimental and earnest, with an “old-fashioned, liberal-minded Christianity.” According to the blogger Nicole O’Meara, “Anyone who enjoys people-watching will enjoy Theo of Golden. . . . Theo gave me the courage to talk to strangers on a recent international trip.”
