Featured Ministry: Parish Celebrations

Every week we celebrate one of the many ministries that make up the work and witness of All Saints Church. This week our featured ministry is Parish Celebrations … and our featured blogger is ministry member Shannon Bankhead.

I became involved in Parish Celebrations after completing Confirmation and wanting to become more involved at All Saints. Through this group, I have joined others in bringing joy and celebration to events at All Saints. I have learned that no event is too small — and that the smiles you receive in return are more than worth it. You can be part of taking something as simple as serving dinner to the youth and turn it into a Halloween party that is now looked forward to year after year.

For me, all of this is a part of serving God through serving the All Saints community. Parish Celebrations has become more than just a group I joined: it has become one of the ministries that anchors me to All Saints. From being involved in Homecoming it has evolved and stretched into opportunities for creativity, hard work and most of all having fun while doing all of it. I have gained both friends and a support group through knowing others in this ministry.
