by Mike Kinman, Rector of All Saints Church
I am happy to announce the formation of the search committee for the permanent Director of Music position at All Saints Church.
Terry Knowles and Elizabeth Tatum, Co-Chairs
Isaac Ruelas (Multiculturalism Coordinator) and Melissa Hayes (Director of Liturgy) will serve as staff resources to the committee. I will attend all meetings of the committee, take part in the deliberations and make the final hiring decision.
The committee will have its first meeting on Tuesday, June 20, at which time it will begin in-depth conversations on our dreams for this position and the broader artistic and musical future of All Saints Church. A large amount of data regarding music at All Saints was gathered from parish focus groups during the rector search and will be used in this process.
During July and August, we will draft a job description, circulating it among committee members for comments, and determine strategies to publicize the position availability. Starting in September, the committee will convene monthly to continue its work. The goal is to have the position named in the spring with the new person here in plenty of time for the 2018-2019 program year.
There is also an interim Director of Music Search Committee (Terry Knowles, Elizabeth Tatum, Gloria Pitzer, Melissa Hayes and myself) that is hard at work and hopes to have an Interim Choirmaster named by early June. Weicheng Zhao will be assuming the role of the principal organist and assistant choirmaster during the interim time.
Please keep this process, the committee, James Walker, and our future interim and permanent directors of music (known only to God at this point) in your prayers.
Con el amor de Cristo,
