Every Sunday at 4:00 p.m. on Zoom — Reclaiming the Bible
This is “bible study” with a difference. Our goal will be to heal and move beyond the misunderstanding, confusion, hurtful interpretation, oppression, and other ways our bible has been used against us. Jesus is the Word of God, and God’s Word is one of love, hope, and reconciliation. This is the bible we’ll strive together to come home to in this small group study. Facilitated by Dr. Charles Foster. Contact Dr. Foster at drcharlesfoster@icloud.com for Zoom access.

Compline Service at St. John’s Episcopal Cathedral
8:00 p.m. at 514 W. Adams Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90007.
Transformational Journeys returns to the Compline service at St. John’s Cathedral for the final service before summer break. The Rev. Mel Soriano will preside. Compline is among the most ancient services of the Christian tradition. It was originally designed in the 6th century to prepare monks to transition from work to sleep at the end of the day. So, how can a 6th century monastic service speak to our frenzied 21st century lives? Through candlelight. Through prayer. Through stillness. Through song. Those who are interested may gather at the Cathedral parking lot by 6:00 p.m. before walking to a nearby restaurant to enjoy dinner together. If you cannot join us for dinner, please arrive early enough to tour and enjoy the beauty of the Cathedral before the service, which begins at 8:00 p.m. and lasts about 30 minutes. The Cathedral hosts a time of food and fellowship immediately following the service. This will be the last compline service until the fall (probably October). Please meet at the Cathedral (free parking on-site). If you have questions or would like to discuss ridesharing, contact Dan McCarrel at djmccarrel@gmail.com or 626-755-4060.

Streaming at 9:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m. (and for 5:00 p.m. and other streamed services and events) is offered on our website’s live stream pageour Facebook page and our YouTube channel. Check out our live streaming page to download service leaflets and take part in our action of the week.
